Why is it important to teach kids about Jesus at church?
Well, Jesus said it himself, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
- Jesus said “let them come to me”, at Cornwall Christian Church we do just that; every week we are teaching God’s word to the kids so that they may come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour. Why? Because Jesus loves them too!
- Jesus Said “do not hinder them”, Jesus wants the kids to know about Him and to come to Him by faith, but kids learn at different levels than adults; that is why we have a number of kids’ classes tailored to engage the kids where they are in their learning. Currently we offer a full service kids program that includes large group worship and bible stories and then we divide them into classes tailored to their age groups. For now we have 2 classes, one for preschool – grade 2 and one for grades 3 – 6+.
- Jesus said “for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Innocent child-like faith is what Jesus wants from us all and kids may actually be the leaders when it comes to this. The level of trust a child is capable of is enormous and when a child begins to believe in Jesus they have the capacity to help change their world for the glory of God.
At Cornwall Christian Church we are constantly trying to find new ways to engage your children so that they can come to know who Jesus is, and what the Bible says, so that your child can find their identity in Christ, because we know and understand that the impact that Jesus can make through your children in our world is incredible!
