Welcome!

Cornwall Christian Church are not interested in appearances. Our desire is to simply be a real place for real people. Our goal is to provide a welcoming place where people can experience an environment of love and grace. We think that attending this church should change your life for the better.

Our Sunday worship times are designed to bring attention to God and honour Him for who He is. We choose to worship in a way that encourages our non-Christian guests to feel comfortable and open to discovering new life in Christ in a family friendly, welcoming atmosphere. You will sing and hear music that is easy to sing along with, and messages that are relevant and encouraging.

Central to this worship time is the Lord’s Supper where as a community connected to Christ we remember what Jesus did for us. We understand that life is full of challenges and struggles. We provide an atmosphere that allows you to be real about who you are. We encourage people to find a living relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and to learn how to let Him heal their hearts and change their lives.

We want you to know how much you matter to God and to us – just as you are. Through worship and authentic relationships with others, you will hear about, see and experience the love of God. This is our church, a place of grace, hope and healing where together we walk with Christ to a life that works on both sides of eternity.

Who Are We?

We are part of a fellowship of some 5500 independent Christian Churches and Churches of Christ around the world. We are the non-denominational denomination. That being said, we are an independent congregation, with elected elders under the ultimate authority of Christ as head of the Church. Our “creed” is Christ and our goal is to please Him with our lives. Our church absolutely belongs to Him and we take our direction from the bible as it is written. Everything we do is meant to bring glory to God, so that people will know Him just like we know Him. Everything we believe about God comes from the bible. Whether you have never read the scriptures before, or are a long time believer, we have a place for you here. We desire to know God, through Christ, and experience the power of His Spirit in our lives.

What Do We Believe?

We Believe in God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit and that they are distinct personalities with distinct roles, but one God. And that One God is the Creator of the universe. We Believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Savior, the Son of God who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, and was raised from the grave. He will return as our victorious Lord. We Believe our salvation comes only through Jesus Christ and cannot be earned. It is a gift of God. We Believe faith in Jesus requires repentance, confession of that faith before witnesses, and obedience to His Word.

Baptism by immersion demonstrates our faith and obedience while it depicts our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. We Believe everyone who accepts Christ has the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit who acts as a Comforter, Guide and Advocate. We Believe the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God in its entirety and that it does not contradict itself. It is our guide. We Believe the Church, as the body of Christ, is the extension of Jesus Christ’s character, attitude, behaviour, and mission in our world today. We Believe God gives gifts to both men and women through the Holy Spirit for the benefit of the church’s ministry. We Believe that humility in prayer is the foundation for all we do and that celebrating communion together weekly is beneficial for all Christians.
